交通事故によるむちうち　Whiplash due to a traffic accident

交通事故でむちうちになると、腰痛が起こる事があります。

これは横隔神経に支配される横隔膜が過緊張を起こし腰椎の前弯が無くなったためです。

この横隔神経は第3，4，5頸椎から出る神経に支配されていますので、次の様な機序で腰痛が起きます。

1，交通事故で首が前後に振られ、靱帯損傷などによる頸椎症や衝撃によって椎間板に亀裂が入るなどして神経症状が出ます。（神経根症状と言います。）

2，これらの神経は肩や肘、手などの上半身を支配していますが、一見関係無さそうな横隔膜も支配しています。

3，横隔膜はドーム型をしていて右脚と左脚という部分が第1～4腰椎にくっついています。

4，横隔神経の興奮により横隔膜も収縮し、ドーム型からフラットになります。

5，腰は本来前に弯曲しているのですが、この弯曲が崩れる事でバランスを失い腰痛や背中がやたらと凝るといった事が起こります。

If you get stuck in a traffic accident, back pain may occur.

This is because the diaphragm, which is controlled by the phrenic nerve, is overstrained and the lumbar lordosis disappears.

This phrenic nerve is dominated by the nerves coming out of the 3rd, 4th and 5th cervical vertebrae, so back pain occurs by the following mechanism.

1. In a traffic accident, the neck is swung back and forth, and cervical spondylosis due to ligament damage or a shock causes a neurological symptom such as a crack in the intervertebral disc. (This is a nerve root symptom.)

2. These nerves dominate the upper body, such as the shoulders, elbows, and hands, but also the seemingly unrelated diaphragm.

3. The diaphragm is domed and the right and left legs are attached to the 1st to 4th lumbar vertebrae.

4. The diaphragm is contracted by the excitement of the phrenic nerve, and becomes flat from the dome shape.

5. The low back are originally bent before, but when this crumble breaks, the balance is lost and back pain and the back are stiff.
